Privacy Policy

This policy describes how QR Forge ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you visit https://getqrforge.site or use its QR tools. QR Forge is a static Next.js export hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Hosting, analytics, and advertising are separate services with their own data practices.

Different parts of the service handle different information:

• Hosting requests: Cloudflare receives network request information needed to deliver the pages, such as an IP address, requested URL, request time, and browser or device information. Cloudflare may process other technical data for its infrastructure and security services.
• Website analytics: when Google Analytics is enabled for the deployed site, Google processes usage and device information described below.
• Advertising: if AdSense is enabled and handles an ad request, Google and relevant advertising partners may process information for ad delivery, measurement, and related purposes.
• Contact messages: if you submit the contact form, we process the name, email address, topic, and message you provide to respond to your request. This information is separate from QR content.
• QR content: content you enter is processed in your browser. If you choose to save a QR design, its QR payload can remain in this browser's local storage until you remove it or clear site data.

Cloudflare Pages hosting does not by itself mean Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled. QR Forge does not claim to use Cloudflare Web Analytics unless that feature is separately configured.

QR Forge constructs the QR payload, applies the selected visual settings, renders the QR image, and prepares downloads in your browser. The app's QR generation code does not send the payload to a QR Forge backend or a separate QR-generation service.

Saving a design is optional. If you use the save feature, the saved configuration includes the QR content and visual settings. The saved copy is kept in local storage on this browser; the logo image itself is omitted. Exporting creates a JSON file containing the QR configuration on your device; importing reads the file you select in the browser. These actions do not upload the QR configuration to QR Forge.

This local processing statement applies to QR content and its generation. It does not mean that the website makes no network requests: the page, analytics or advertising integrations when enabled, and certain third-party images are requested separately.

QR Forge uses Google Analytics 4, when configured for the deployed site, to understand overall traffic and general use of the website and to improve it. This helps us understand visitor and session patterns; it is not a process for us to identify individual visitors.

When a Google Analytics measurement ID is configured, the site loads the Analytics component about two seconds after the page mounts. The application code does not gate that tag on a consent choice.

A standard Google Analytics implementation can process information such as user and session counts, pages viewed and interaction events, approximate location, and browser and device information. Google Analytics may use first-party cookies, including cookies such as _ga, or similar identifiers to distinguish browsers and sessions. Google's configuration and retention controls can affect which optional measurements are collected and how long Analytics data is retained.

QR Forge's application code does not send the QR text, WiFi credentials, contact fields, or generated payload as custom Google Analytics events. Analytics is a separate website-usage service; this does not change where QR generation itself happens. See Google's explanation of Analytics data collection.

QR Forge includes a Google AdSense integration that may be used to help fund hosting, maintenance, and continued operation of this free website. The presence or loading of an AdSense script does not by itself confirm that an advertisement is currently being served. AdSense and manual ad placements are controlled by deployment and account settings.

When the AdSense flag is enabled, its script can load after the page becomes interactive. Manual ad placements have separate settings. When AdSense handles an ad request, Google and relevant advertising partners may process information such as IP address, browser or device details, cookies or similar identifiers, and information about ad delivery or interaction. Depending on the applicable settings and user choices, this information may be used to deliver and measure ads, prevent invalid activity, or personalize ads. Their processing is governed by their own policies and controls.

QR Forge uses browser local storage for these purposes:

• The theme preference stores your selected light or dark appearance.
• If you explicitly save a QR design, qrstudio:savedDesign stores its complete QR configuration, including its payload and style settings. The uploaded logo image is not included.

Google Analytics may use first-party cookies or similar identifiers when enabled. Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies, browser storage, or similar identifiers when the integration is enabled and an ad request is handled. These third-party technologies are controlled by their respective configurations and policies.

The application code does not use session storage or IndexedDB for QR data. You can remove saved QR designs by using the app's reset controls, or clear this site's local storage and cookies through your browser. Clearing site data also removes the saved theme preference.

The site is hosted as a static export on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes requests to serve the site. Information handled by its infrastructure is subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. The static hosting setup does not require a QR Forge server runtime, database, or API to generate QR codes. The owner has not independently verified a specific Cloudflare log-retention period.

The DM Sans font is bundled with the site at build time using Next.js font optimization. The browser does not request this font from Google Fonts at runtime.

The footer includes an image badge served by Product Hunt. Loading that badge sends a request to Product Hunt, which can receive the request's network information. QR Forge also links to external services such as Ko-fi; those services receive information if you follow their links. Their own policies apply to those visits.

Direct email is optional. If you email QR Forge, we receive the sender address and whatever information you include. If you submit the contact form, the name, email address, topic, and message are sent through a Cloudflare Pages Function to Resend, which processes them to send an email to [email protected]. The support email is handled by an external forwarding provider that forwards support messages to the site owner's inbox. Those providers process the information under their own policies. We do not publish the owner's private inbox address here. Contact messages are not part of QR payload processing and are not attached to QR generation requests.

QR content is used in your browser to create the QR code and, if you choose, to save a design locally. Contact details and messages you submit are used to receive and respond to that communication. Website request information is processed by Cloudflare to deliver the site. Analytics information helps us understand general website traffic and usage. Advertising information may be processed by Google and its partners to support ad delivery and measurement if the advertising integration is enabled.

QR Forge does not sell QR payloads. We do not use the QR payload as an Analytics event in the application code. Each third-party provider handles information under its own settings and policies.

QR Forge is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent personal information to QR Forge by email, contact us so we can review the request. Analytics or advertising providers may process general device or usage information as described above, depending on their configuration.

• You can choose not to save a QR design. Remove an existing saved design in the tool or clear QR Forge's local storage in your browser settings.
• Browser settings and extensions can control or block cookies and third-party requests. Blocking them may affect analytics, advertising, or some external images.
• Google provides a browser add-on for opting out of Analytics at Google Analytics Opt-out.
• You can review Google ad personalization and advertising controls through My Ad Center, linked above.

Available controls depend on your location, browser, and the settings of the relevant third-party service. This policy does not itself collect consent or change those settings.

A saved design remains in local storage on your device until you remove it or clear this site's browser data. The QR Forge static application does not store QR content on an application server.

Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and Cloudflare each control or configure their own retention and security practices. Those periods can depend on account, product, and deployment settings that QR Forge cannot verify from this page. Please consult the linked provider policies and controls for current details.

QR Forge uses static hosting and client-side QR generation, but no website can promise that network transmission or third-party processing is risk-free.

We may update this policy when our services or data practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the policy was revised. Please review it periodically.
